Light of My Life is Casey Affleck’s most intimate film yet.
In his first narrative directed film(he directed to now infamous documentary I’m still here) Casey delivers a chilling look into a post apocalyptic world with no women. It’s an incredible feet that he pulls off majestically with the director of photography also showing off. The film is so beautifully shot it’s something that screams to be seen on the big screen like “Midsommar” it is awestruck with power all around from the screenplay being really well written with sharp and quick dialogue. To the directing job by Casey Affleck which is Oscar bait. Along with his acting I remember when he was just Ben’s brother in Chasing Amy and Good Will Hunting and now Casey is an academy award winning actor that just gets better with each film he stars in. This is simply is most commanding performance since Gerry with friend Matt Damon. Once again this mainly a two person show. Not many actors can pull this story line off and Casey Affleck once again makes a case why he is one of Hollywood’s most versatile actors working today. Now also showing us he could be an up and coming director that can deliver an Oscar winning picture. It has me drooling over what he comes up with next.
