Wonder Woman took the box office by storm when it was first released, we had no clue the staying power the franchise could have. Now with Wonder Woman 1984 coming out, it had unrealistic expectations and I’m here to tell you it lives up to them quite admirably.

Gal Gadot returns as Wonder Woman aka Diana Prince. She has a real handle on the role she was seemingly born to play the titular character of the franchise. Chris Pine also returns as the pilot and is charming as ever in his part where he stole the show in the first Wonder Woman, there is no denying Gadot and Pine have terrific chemistry together.

Newcomers to the franchise Pedro Pascal and Kristen Wiig incredibly mesh well together and their performances really help the plot of the villains, Pedro can be a little over-the-top villain. That could be what Patty Jenkins and the screenplay wanted from him as comic book villains seem to be over-the-top.

When it comes down to it Wonder Woman 1984 would’ve been quite the theatrical experience especially in large format screens and it’s a solid entry into the DCEU. It will satisfy a lot of the fans of the first Wonder Woman while it keeps its charm. I would highly recommend watching the sequel with the family as it has things for everyone.
