Looks like HBO Max and Warner Bros. Finally have a real winner on their hands with Judas and the Black Messiah featuring powerhouse performances that will you keep you talking long after the movie is over including a towering Martin Sheen as J Edgar Hoover.

First and foremost, the cast deserves a lot of credit from the always admirable, LaKeith Stanfield(Uncut Gems, Atlanta, and Knives Out) as well as Oscar-Worthy Daniel Kaluuya(Get Out, Black Panther). LaKeith is phenomenal, as an FBI informant William O’ Neal. Daniel needs no description as the revolutionist Fred Hampton, he is as magnetic as ever, and may be his career-best performance this far in his outstanding young career.
Now here we gotta talk about the scene stealers including Jesse Plemmons as FBI agent Roy Mitchell, who demands the screen with his presence. Lil Rey Howery, in a killer unrecognizable cameo that will leave saying “Oh Shit!”.

This is surely going to be an Oscar contender for great reasons, the acting, directing, cinematography, and production designs are all fantastic and deserve a ton of credit.
Overall grade: 5/5 Stars
