Crisis is a really strong outing for Gary Oldman and Armie Hammer and Michelle Rodriguez. However, it really sucks for everyone involved with the real life crisis that Mr. Hammer is having that got this one to go straight to VOD platforms. It would have made a reasonable dent at the box office with all the great actors involved including the always reliable Greg Kinnear.

The plot is a little rough to watch as we’re still in a pandemic that has been going on for a year and has no sign of slowing down even though we do have vaccinations available for people. The overdose of opioids is a really depressing subject for anyone as we’ve all known someone whose had a loved one or friends die from the epidemic.
When you watch this movie it’s mainly for the acting which is really strong, I feel terrible for Armie right now as he’s dealing with allegations and this may be his strongest outing since the man from Uncle and The Social Network days and would have been back on track with Crisis and Death on The Nile getting ready to be a huge blockbuster adaptation.

This film isn’t going to be for everyone because of the drug use and the subject matter but if you can stomach it and separate the art from the artist’s personal life then it will be a good watch.

I also think Crisis was a great vehicle for Armie Hammer. It was interesting to see him as a cop. He was good at being DEA.
