THE MAURITANIAN is such a beautiful work of cinema that needs to be seen on the big screen, even though we live in a pandemic era. If you can see this safely on the big screen you need to. As the whole cast is stellar from Jodie Foster to Benedict Cumberbatch.

This is a powerful true story, that I once thought by the trailer would too preachy and forcing political agendas. However when it came down to it The Mauritanian did the complete opposite and stayed a compelling, thrilling, and uplifting journey through its core till it shook you in the third act that had resemblance with Jakob’s Ladder type sequences. I’m astounded that Jodie Foster didn’t receive an Oscar Nomination for her role, which continues to show that the Oscars have became a joke.

Benedict Cumberbatch did his usual great acting and by now we shouldn’t expect anything else from him. He should be recognized as the next great actor of this generation. Tahar Rahim gives an Oscar Worthy performance that is also a joke that he didn’t get nominated for anything as well by the Academy.
