Review:
Moffie was a very difficult movie to review as the time it was sent to me was also the beginning of festivals such as SXSW and other small festivals. However, when I did watch Moffie I was speechless with how it was made and taken care of by the filmmakers who obviously wanted to make a statement that would work.

Moffie is slang for an homosexual man, now that would be like us calling a movie Faggot here and somehow making an Oscar worthy movie that Moffie is. Even though it may not sit well with a lot of people and I imagine I enjoyed it a ton more than other audience members have. Currently sitting at 90% on Rotten Tomatoes is quite respectable for Moffie.
The acting is very solid along with the direction and writing my main gripe with Moffie is the uneven tones it may sway to, and that it never really finds its pacing often being slow. However, if you got IFC Unlimited it will be a great film to stream.
Overall grade: 3/5 stars
