Edgar Wright is a fascinating director who can do it all to the point I wish he would have stayed on Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and The Sparks Brothers will put you in that mindset that he is one of the most fresh and unique directors working today.

The Sparks was once an immensely popular band that was not popular at all. According to the tagline it is your favorite bands favorite band. As you see that all come to fruition in the extremely entertaining documentary.

The documentary does a great job being for everyone, people that are aware of The Sparks and people that do not know anything about them as well. Sometimes documentaries isolate the mainstream audience members who may not know anything about the band or person it is based on. The Sparks is great at not isolating anyone in the audience.

It is also great to see the comedians who come out to talk about their first impressions about the band The Sparks. Including SNL alumni Fred Arminson, Mike Myers. Also, greats like Patton Oswalt, Jason Schwartzman, and Weird Al Yankovic. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost also make appearances. It most touching when Bjork and Jane Wiedlin speak on camera about The Spark Brothers.

Overall, The Sparks Brothers is a terrific new documentary that proves that Edgar Wright is one of the most unique filmmakers in Hollywood that can make a 2 hour and 20-minute documentary feel like 70 minutes. Check this out on the big screen it is a blast.
