The Unforgivable gives us an unforgivable Sandra Bullock performance. It also reminds us of a lot of late 2008 movies like The Nines, and The Air I Breathe, where it features an all star cast with a mediocre script and execution in directing.

However, with Jon Bernthal and Vincent D’Onfrio and Viola Davis helps the movie a lot, with veteran actors that can elevate a script that is by-the-numbers to a fault. The movie’s main fault is how familiar it is.
If you’re looking for an Oscar-worthy movie this Oscar season, this may not be it, unless Sandra becomes a dark horse in a tightly contested Best Actress category already. However, it is one of Netflix’s better dramas in a long time that doesn’t take itself too seriously, it’s worth a stream.
