Space Force season 2 is a huge step up from season 1, as the creator said in some interviews they retooled it to be much more like The Office, as no sitcom or tv show will ever come close to that, even with their cast and creator re-teaming. However, the strides season 2 takes is astronomical.
Steve Carrell seems like he just got off the set of Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, giving us a performance perfectly being a satire of George C. Scott, unless I’m the only one who picked up on it. John Malkovich also has a lot more to do this season and deserves a Golden Globe nomination for his work this season.
Jimmy O. Yang is the real hero of this season as he carries the series when John or Steve are not on the screen, Jimmy has always been underrated even with his scene stealing work in Silicon Valley. There’s a laugh per minute in each episode this season, the best episode of the season is easily The Chinese Delegation, has the most laughs and is the most re-watchable episode of the season.
While Space Force may not have groundbreaking strides in television it is nice to see Netflix give it a second go around and come into its own.
