The Outfit is a stylish gangster flick, that will take you back to the noir films of the ’30s, ‘40s, and ‘50s. Where it was cool to have quick witty dialogue as the rhythm dictation for the film’s speed. Dylan O’ Brien and Zoey Deutch are in top form, as well as the always fantastic Mark Rylance who is a delicate scene-stealer.
Fans of the early work of Quentin Tarantino will get a huge kick out of The Outfit as it will remind you a lot of a more personal Reservoir Dogs. The characters are gel together well here, they never miss a best from Graham Moore who does one heck of a job directing everyone involved.
Zoey Deutch is mainly known for her comedic timing from films such as Flower, Buffaloed, and Zombieland 2: Double Tap. It was breathtaking to see her commit and nail a serious role for her, she deserves to be a star and hopefully, this will be the movie that brings her more starring roles.
All in all, The Outfit will be a killer time at the movies for people who’ve been missing the old-style film noir and gangster films of the past. It features tons of great performances with a rad atmosphere.
