Moon Knight has been described by Kevin Feige as the most mature series Disney+ has done to date, and while this is still rated “TV-14” here in the states, there’s a lot more than meets the eye with its rating. It deals with heavy subject matters that some of us may not want to talk about, especially some parents who want light entertainment with their children. Which is why I’m glad Marvel took this route with Moon Knight.

The MCU so far has been known to be a particularly nice theme park ride for the whole family, Moon Knight May finally break that mold. Dealing with mental health issues and identity crisis throughout the season is something Oscar Isaac pulls off tremendously well and deserves him a Golden Globe nomination. In comes Ethan Hawke that will make you wonder why he never won that elusive Oscar through his career, he nails it as the villain, he commands the screen with every word of dialogue.

The way Moon Knight is shot will make you think it’s more of a horror series than a typical MCU forced movie or series, the CGI is breathtaking, I’m sure 99% of the show is green or blue screen oriented but you’ll never know by how great Marvel is with the special effect. I’ve been big on the MCU phase 4 so far calling it one of the best phases we’ve seen, while fandom may not agree with me because it’s something unique and not Captain America and Iron Man doing the same thing for the millionth time.
Moon Knight is well worth your time and effort to get into as the first episode is a lot of build-up and I can hear the chattering now “But nothing happens in the pilot what a waste of time!!” Give it two episodes and it cranks up the ante vividly, you’ll be blown away.
