Lightyear is a new movie in the lucrative Toy Story franchise from the legendary animated studio Pixar. It ruffled some feathers from its early announcement that Chris Evans would be taking over for Tim Allen. However, I was quite skeptical as well when the first trailers for Lightyear have released the only thing that made me laugh was Sox making the white noise.
Now since the digital release of Lightyear, I was able to review it and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of it and how much fun it was. While not being great or not having the same magic as the 4 Toy Story movies it does have its moments that will make for a great family movie. The animation and sound design make the movie immersive.

I don’t think it will get any award nominations as it’s not as great as other animated movies out there this year. The special features are fun to watch as well, while you get to watch the crew create the world of Lightyear and the deleted scenes give a little bit more of a backstory to some characters it is easy to see why they got cut from the final product because they took away from the pacing of the film.
