Riot Girls is set after a mysterious illness has killed all adults. The town of Potter’s Bluff has been divided into two rival factions, the ‘East side’, made up of scrappy scavengers living amongst the ruins, and the ‘West side’ which hoards its wealth in the former high school and is ruled by brutal dictator, Jeremy (Munro Chambers, “Degrassi: The Next Generation”).

When Jack (Alexandre Bourgeois, “Departure”), an Eastsider, is forced to kill two Westsiders while on a scavenging mission, he is captured and taken back to the West side where he awaits public execution. Jack’s sister, Nat (Iseman), and her best friend, Scratch (Kwiatkowski), must cross into dangerous territory if they hope to save him. Their treacherous journey reveals not only the power of their love, but the depths of their courage.

This was one of my favorites from Fantasia International Film Festival this year and I’m so excited for you all to finally see the trailer.

I’m a massive fan of Kevin Smith he is the sole reason I jumped into podcasting and started to believe in myself as a critic and podcaster. If it wasn’t for Clerks and Chasing Amy and now Tusk for reviving his career I don’t know where I would be today. Crawl is the most tense time at a theater this summer

I have to say I was very skeptical about a premise like Crawl then I talked to the brothers who wrote it and they told me their image of the film and how it came together so I started to have an open mind towards it and I’m glad I saw it on opening night.

It’s something you should see on a really big screen. With tons of sound also see it in the dark with a huge crowd. You’ll get so many gasp and wtf moments it’s a really fun time at the cinemas and it should be the resurrection of Creature Features on the big screen in the golden era of Stephen King adaptations it’s nice to see horror go back to creature feature elements. Roger Corman would have been proud with this one so damn much. There is so much that will make you squirm and piss your pants it’s flat out an amazing experience.

Barry Pepper hasn’t been this good in eons! We can finally forget he was in Battlefield Earth! He was honestly born for this part he brought so much veteran depth and heart to this it will tug at your emotions in all the right ways. You’ll cheer you’ll cry and cheer some more. Kaya Scodelario might be Jessica Chastain’s only competition at best horror actress of the year just a simply breathtaking performance. Please go see this movie ASAP!

Deadsight review

Deadsight is a breath of fresh air to the zombie genre it’s a lot like Don’t Breathe in a way. That the main character is blind and walking his way through the zombie apocalypse it’s a white knuckle nail biter of a thriller. On such a tight run time of 81 minutes so it never lets you go which admirable. RJLE films continue to blow you away with low budget horror continuing their hot streak after “Mandy” came out last year. Adam Seybold did a phenomenal job as the lead. Jesse Thomas Cook also did a great job directing the film. A lot these genre films suffer when they have such a low budget this film didn’t. I would highly recommend it to our viewers.

The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil is a phenomenal entry in this years Fantasia international Film Festival. I don’t think I can recall a horror film with so much depth in its choreography and lighting it’s almost like a David Fincher films it instantly grabs your attention and never lets up. The acting is also breathtaking. I’ll be a little bit honest when I was foreign films I have a bit of trouble getting the tone of its actors. You can the terror and seriousness in everybody involved to the point you’re going to be squirming in your chair the whole time! This is not for the faint of heart. Watch this with the sound turned up to 11 especially if you have a surround system like I do you’ll love hearing the fight sequences and like our previous review this has major revisiting value Fantasia 2019 is off to an amazing start I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us! If this is released in theaters across the states I hope it’s well received by fans of the genre it just has the feeling of a classic.

Critters Attack is the newest entry of the lucrative cult favorite franchise “Critters” which previously had 4 entries that were all PG-13 this is the first one in the franchise that is rated “R” but it is a TV movie for SYFY as well so I don’t know how viewers will be able to tell the rating here will make that much of a difference when it came to the original installments over the years. I didn’t see much of the original franchise I did see Critters 2 and Critters A New Binge! This is more of the lines of Critters A New Binge. All though it does feature a wonderful cameo from Dee Wallace. If you were some the people that enjoyed the Shudder original I’m sure this will be up your alley. I don’t think these films are aimed towards me but I did find quite a few highlights along the way that I found myself enjoying the 85 minute runtime of the new feature film. I like campy films like this so I did find myself enjoying the campiness of the plot which can be at times silly. The acting here is much more invested then I thought the Shudder original Critters A New Binge! Was you can tell the budget effected the designs of the creatures and made them look a little silly as well. Yes I have seen enough of the previous takes to understand that this is generally what they look like but with a slightly better effort they could have looked really cool. I just found the design to be below a B movie production value. This does work better as a feature length movie than it would as a stretched out show on TV however. I do think a miniseries with the right budget can bring out wonders for the Critters revival. Were not quite there yet but this was a decent effort.
